Brand Identity & Point Of Sale
East Lancashire Railway is a heritage railway in Lancashire and Greater Manchester. They approached us to develop their current branding in order to meet new visitor targets. This meant changing the mindset of potential visitors to consider East Lancashire Railway as a mainstream tourist attraction, rather than a specialist railway attraction.
Using the existing ELR logo we developed a brand identity for a modern audience. Celebrating the industrial history, iconic landmarks and family friendly activities along the route, we developed a bright and vibrant layered collage.
The bespoke brand identity we created was rolled out across many campaign materials, including visitor guides, event posters and visitor information signage. We also produced a comprehensive set of brand guidelines to ensure that ELR’s new brand would remain strong as they worked with us and other suppliers to achieve their goal of increasing visitor numbers to over 200,000 by 2020.
